Dr. David Li of Plano, Texas passed away peacefully on December 29th, 2019 at the age of 53. He is survived by his father Chuansheng Li, wife Sara Song, brother Wanhong Li, daughter Ruth Li, daughter Grace Li, son Michael Li, and daughter Jayden Li.
David was born on March 15th, 1966, in Yichang, China, from humble beginnings. The hardships he endured a young age instilled in him great aspirations to be someone who could contribute extraordinary things to society.
Ever since he was a child, David had always been anoutstanding student, but his perseverance in his studies really enabled him to climb to greater heights. In 1984, he was admitted to the Nuclear Physics degree program at the prestigious Fudan University in Shanghai with the highest honors. After four years of rigorous undergraduate study, he found his passion in physics and decided to travel overseas for more exposure to the modern science world. In August 1988, he accepted an offer from Columbia University to study in Applied Physics. Upon receiving his Master of Science degree from Columbia, he then went on to Harvard University to further his studies. In May 1994, he successfully obtained his PhD degree in Physics from Harvard.
In 1995, David started a long and distinguished career at Texas Instruments Inc. He made many key contributions and innovations to the technology world and held several patents.During his 24-year career with Texas Instruments, he worked diligently and meticulously, earning the trust of his superiors and the respect of his colleagues. David made outstanding contributions to the success of the company.
David was proud to be an excellent fisherman. He enjoyedfishing with his friends in many lakes and seas,often returning with the catch of the day. He also loved skiing and basketball,and many knew him as a lifelong fan of the Dallas Mavericks. He loved spending time together with friends, visiting scenic places and tasting delicious food.However, his great love was his family.
David was filial to his parents and caring toward his children. With his sincere and honest personality, he built close connections with all his friends and colleagues. Never one to covet fame or wealth, he was always willing to give others an extra helping hand. He was a dutiful son, devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend.
Now that he is free from pain and all the attachments of this world, may he rest in peace!
