He accepted Christ at an early age when he joined Free Church of God True Holiness under the leadership of the late Elder Brown.
He graduated in 1960 from Pyle High in Kaufman, Texas, and later enrolled in continuing education courses.
On October 10, 1962, he wed the love of his life, Elberta Christine (Hill). To this union, four children were born.
He went from janitor to manager when employed with The Longhorn Ballroom from 1964 until his first retirement in 1997. But as a hard worker and dedicated to his family, Wilson continued employment with Traymore Nursing Home and the Telesis Company before retiring in 2015.
He loved the Lord and served churches throughout his community as Usher Board President, Deacon, and Minister.
Affectionately called Uncle Pete and PaPa, Wilson was known for his infectious smile and was a firm believer in family. He provided an open-door policy for those needing a place to stay to help get them on their feet.
On Saturday, August 26, our beloved PaPa transitioned from his earthly home to be with the Lord, at home surrounded by his loved ones. He is preceded in death by both parents, 5 brothers, Willie, Charlie Jr., Joel Sr., Earnest, and Benny Sr., and 2 sisters, Arbella & Armintha.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife and soul of over 60 years, Elberta Wren, and his children: Barbara Wren-Dean, Wilson Wren Jr. (Mary), Edward Wren, and Bryant Wren (Yolanda). His grandchildren: Eric Wren, Erica Dean, Davion Morgan, Tabia Morgan, Michael Dean, Christian Battle, Jasmine Wren, ShaDerrica Jordan, Jamilah Lewis, and Ejai Wren; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers: Roy Wren, Robert Wren (Lester), and James Wren (Dianna), sisters-in-law Evie Pearl Wren and Joyce Harris, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.laurellanddallas.com for the Wren family.
