Wilson "Rusty" Benjamin Sexton

Rusty was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the second child and only son of Lucy and John Thomas Sexton. His family moved to Tucson, Arizona, and subsequently to Dallas, Texas, where he graduated from Hillcrest High School. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was based in New Orleans, Louisiana. After his active naval service, he became a member of the U.S. Naval Reserves and enrolled at Southern Methodist University. He worked his way through college and earned a B.B.A. in 1958.

During college he was employed by a well-known pool building company, California based Paddock Pools. This led to and influenced his entire business career. After many years, he and a business partner founded SCP Pool ,which evolved into Pool, Inc. when it was listed on NASDAQ in 1997. Rusty received many accolades in the pool industry and the company is now the largest wholesale distribution company of pool and recreational products in the world.

Rusty was an active member and past president of Rotary Club in Richardson, Texas, and an active member of Rotary Club in Mandeville, Louisiana, for many years. In 2001 he started The Wilson Sexton Foundation and worked with his family over the years to donate funds to many charitable endeavors. The Wilson Sexton Foundation continues what Mr. Sexton started. Rusty is survived by his wife, Jean Tirey Sexton, and his two children, Wilson B. Sexton, Jr. (Susan) and Susan Sexton Horn. He is also survived by Jean’s children, Susan Stone (Guy), R. Logan Wray (Katie) and Jenny McGowan (Mike); nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Rusty loved life, tennis, golf, fly-fishing and traveling with family and friends. Our family wishes to express their appreciation for the daily constant devotion of his caregivers. They were an inspiration for each of us.
