My Brother Willie was one of the coolest guys I ever know. He is the person I owe my career to and the complete reason why I’m successful today! This really hit home for me. My name is 1SG David Auston and I served with 1SG Mosley when I was an E6 with the 808th EN CO out of Houston, TX. This man came in and showed me what true leadership looked like and embodied what it meant to be an NCO. If you’ve seen him in uniform, it was always immaculate from head to toe. He made it look so easy and from there he was coined my mentor. I began communicating with him more often to pick his brain about responsibilities and leadership tactics to gain a better understanding in my current role and future roles. As time continued, we formed a really dope bond. It’s one of those bonds where you don’t have to communicate for years but the moment you do it’s as if no time had passed. That was our bond and it became even stronger when he showed me he was a man of his word. He always told me if I was ever in Dallas, not to get a hotel and that he would house me. Well that’s exactly what he did when my family and I came to Dallas. He, with his wife’s support, housed and fed my family. That put him on an entirely different level with me because of how rare that is. You will always be my brother 1SG.

Our  condolences to Pam and her loving family. Our hearts are broken and sad. We will continue to pray for strength for your entire family lil sis. We love you Karl, KJ and I.

I couldn't be who I am, without 1SG Mosley being who he was. 

When I joined the Army, he was one of the first faces at my unit to welcome me. He challenged me, coached me, and mentored me to see what it looks like to be a good NCO, and more importantly, a good person. He was as genuine as they come, caring for people before it was the "cool" thing in the Army. I looked forward to coming back home, and reuniting with him like a son coming home to his dad, "look at me, I made it", as I knew he would be proud of me, as I wouldn't be me without him being who he was first. 
I will miss him, but am so proud to carry on who he taught me to be. 

His legacy lives.

    To my dearest family, I did arrive okay. I'm writing this from heaven; here I dewell with God above. Here, there are no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love. My prayers go out to all of Willie's family and friends.  Willie was such a good man. He was honest, caring, and kind to everyone,  he always had a smile on his face. He was a born leader and left a lasting impression on anyone he met. Willie was one of the best friends I ever had at UPS for almost 40 yrs. I loved Willie like a brother and will never forget him. He will be missed by so many. RIP Willie Mosley...until we meet again.

Willie, not only were you my Son-In-Law, you seem more like my son with a heart of gold. You went out of your way to help me but you helped a lot of people. You loved people and you touched so many lives. Your good humor will linger in our 💕 hearts forever. Gone but never forgotten.

Willie was an amazing genuine person. He made everyone feel welcome, he liked to make you laugh and he knew what an influence he could have on those around him. I have so many memories I am grateful for from the jokes he would share when I would visit my dear friend Charlotte years ago when our kids were small to the WWF events  he took the boys to as kids ( the boys would buzz with excitement leading up to and weeks after) but most of all I am grateful to Willie for the influence he had on my son.  May all that knew Willie carry his light in their hearts. Sending love and prayers to all of the Mosley family and friends.

1SG Mosley was an absolute champion for Soldiers, a fine developer and mentor for NCOs, and a wonderful council not just for me (his CO) but for any LT that would listen.

He was the first First Sergeant I had as a Company Commander, and on top of being an outstanding NCO for an entire generation of Soldiers, he was a terrific human being.

His impact on the 721st cannot be understated. He was the first 1SG of this newly numbers unit so many years ago (formerly Alpha Co., 980th EN BN), where he would go on to develop the capabilities of this company for its deployment to Afghanistan and lay the foundation for what would become "Team Cowboy".

As an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, we establish the name "Team Cowboy"; this name pays homage to not only the unit's Dallas area roots, but to its founding 1SG and his passion for both America's Team and his own 721st team. Upon his departure, he was gifted a signed painting of Emmitt Smith – a symbolic gesture as Willie was an unstoppable "running back" to the CO's "QB" position. I could hand the ball to him and know he'd run it for a touchdown. That's the NCO and man that he was. The name "Team Cowboy" is one of his legacies.

You will always be remembered with honor and praise. Cheers to you, "Top". 🥃

Thank you for the support, guidance and wisdom you helped instill in Tate, he was always so proud of his (grandpa) Papa Mosley. We are still in shock and saddened by your sudden passing, we thought we had so much more time.

I remember going to my very first Texas Rangers baseball game with Jordan when I was 11 years old because of Mr. Mosley. I had no clue what was going on but me and Jordan were just excited to be there and he was more than happy to take us. I go to baseball games quite often now and every time I go I have a memory of him and that first game. Willie, my boy, thank you and I love you.

I will never forget the memory of making you proud to graduate from college. I love you. I miss you. I wouldn’t be the man I am today without your guidance. 🫡

I could tell upon meeting him how well he was liked by his fellow UPSers and I’m grateful for his service to our company. My heart is broken that such a strong, vibrant man has gone so soon.  Anytime I walked away from a conversation with Willie I had smile on my face. He listened to me. He made me feel confident and respected. Willie treated his employees as humans with kindness and dignity. 
Fifteen years ago I asked Willie for a day off to prepare for my parents upcoming 50th anniversary…not only did he grant me that opportunity, he gave me an anniversary card to give to my parents. He remembered their anniversary every year after that, and sent his regards. That is a small example of the big, caring heart he had. Every time my parents saw a UPS truck they would say “God bless you, God bless our daughter, and God bless Willie.”

I drive and park in my spot  at the gym and look over His spot is empty,  but my heart is full of joy, because I met this Giant of a Man  named  Willie Mosely., small in stature  but a Giant of a Great  Man! Smiling , encouraging, and never negative.  Willie love his Family and Country. Gone but not forgotten, I plan to see my Brothet again, walking  around Heaven  all day. Willie was such a bright light every morning when I would see him at the gym.  One of the kindest people I’ve ever met.  Always with  big smile and positive words.  I miss him every day when I see his normal parking space empty,  my deepest condolences to his family.  Prayers for comfort to his family who he adored.
