William David Ratley passed away on June 2nd, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. He was born on October 25th, 1950, in Columbus, Georgia to James Raymond Ratley, Jr. and Jane Wright Ratley. Dave grew up in many locations worldwide with his siblings while their father served in the Navy. They settled in Bremerton, Washington in Dave’s middle school years where he became active in sports and student government. At the University of Washington in Seattle, he was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity and graduated with a degree in microbiology.
As a successful telecommunication sales executive, Dave traveled extensively throughout the United States. He eventually settled in the Dallas area where he lived for the remainder of his life. Dave was an avid golfer and generally an all-sports enthusiast. He was also a history buff with a phenomenal knowledge of American history and its wars.
Dave enjoyed taking his children to many ball games and golf outings. He loved entertaining a good gathering of friends and family. Family vacations would often include stops at museums, historical sites, and Civil War battlefields.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother James and sister Deborah; his five children, Carolyn, Andrew, Michael, Christopher, and Melissa; and six grandchildren Sophie, Emma, Theodore, Phillip, Daniella, and Thomas.
A graveside service will be held at Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery in Dallas Texas, 10:00 am Saturday, June 29th.
