On September 25th, 1944, God blessed John & Theresia Phillips with a sweet and loving baby, William “Bill” Edward, who would grow to be a loving and compassionate man. Bill was the second of four siblings, preceded by John and followed by Charlie and Mary. As a child, he loved playing cowboys and Indians with his cousins, brothers and sister. He grew up in Dallas attending school and playing football and baseball, beginning a lifetime passion for following and watching sports. In Bill’s third year of college, he was drafted into the Army and served his country in Vietnam. Shortly after returning from the war, he married and became a father of two daughters, Elizabeth Ann and Natalie Suzanne. Bill devoted his life to his family, working over 25 years at Darr Equipment and could often be seen kneeling by his bed praying for family. He loved to interact with his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, playing catch, bowling, playing cards or just sitting and talking. He was a patient and gentle man with a loving and tender heart for all those around him. Later in life, he fell in love with and married Eloise George. Unfortunately, Alzheimer’s stole the final years of this great man’s life, but his memory is carried forward by so very many. He is survived by his wife, Eloise, two daughters, Elizabeth and Natalie, step son, Christopher and 14 grandchildren, Jacob, Sarah, Hannah, Jens, Rebekah, Kallista, Isaac, Benjamin, Samuel, Micah, Lydia, Nathan, Susanna, and Elijah.
