William "Pat" and Patricia Weber

After 62 years of marriage, it is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of William Pez “Pat” Weber and his beloved wife, Patricia Fisher Weber. Both 84 years old, they passed away peacefully together on June 5, 2024, in Dallas, Texas, a testament to their eternal bond of love and partnership.

Patricia and Pat Weber were bound by a love that transcended time. The Webers were high school sweethearts at Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, Texas, and shared a remarkable journey of over six decades of marriage. Every moment spent together was a testament to their enduring bond and their unwavering devotion in their love for the Lord. Together, they navigated life's joys and challenges hand in hand. They nurtured a family rich in love and togetherness, welcoming their daughters, Wendy Michelle and Heather Danielle, into the world with open hearts and limitless dedication. Patricia's vibrant spirit and Pat's steadfast leadership were a beacon of strength and guidance for their family, as they selflessly devoted themselves to school activities and community involvement. Patricia and Pat embarked on their love of travel across Europe, Scandinavia, Asia, Hawaii, and Bali — their most cherished destination. Everlasting memories were also made on trips with family to Beaver Creek, Colorado.

Affectionately known as Pitty and Paddy, their love and memories with their family knew no bounds, leaving a lasting legacy to their beloved grandchildren. Nothing brought them more joy than spending time with their five precious grandchildren, relishing in the moments and cherishing the bond they shared.

William Pez Weber (1940-2024)

William Pez Weber, “Pat”, dedicated his life to blazing trails and making a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. The son of Jewel and Hans Weber, Pat was born in Port Arthur, Texas on April 28, 1940. Pat attended Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, where he pledged Alpha Tau Omega and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering in 1962. Shortly after his graduation, Pat began his illustrious career with Texas Instruments (“TI”). During this time, he continued his education at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas while working at TI and earned his master’s degree in engineering in 1966.

He was a true pioneer in every sense of the word. During his 35-year career at TI, Pat spearheaded transformative initiatives that reshaped the landscape of the semiconductor and military defense industries through a major transition from primarily commodity devices to a higher-value custom designer of chips, leaving a profound and successful global legacy.

Weber joined TI in 1962 and began his career in the company’s defense business holding a variety of responsibilities. In 1982, he was named president of the defense business following his responsibility as division manager of the electro-optic and missile businesses. In January 1984, he was elected Executive Vice President with responsibility for management of TI’s strategic development and elected to the TI Board of Directors.

As President from 1986-1993 of TI's worldwide semiconductor business, Pat directed a major transformation of TI's semiconductor business strategy, including marketing, customers, international, differentiated products, technology, manufacturing, and quality, resulting in record growth and profitability. From 1989 until 1993, in addition to managing the semiconductor business, he also had sectoral responsibility for the company's Materials and Controls Group, Consumer Products Division, Research and Development, and TI's international operations. Pat was elected Vice Chairman of TI in 1993 and was named acting President and CEO in 1996.

In addition to his TI responsibilities, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Kmart Corporation. He was a Chairman of the Semiconductor Industry Association and served on the boards of the Pacific Basin Economic Council and the U.S.-Japan, U.S.- Korea, and U.S.-Philippine Business Councils. An active and ardent supporter of The University of Texas at Dallas, he served for several years as the Chair of the Development Board.

Pat retired from Texas Instruments in April 1998 and continued to stay active serving on multiple corporate boards including Micron, Kmart, Unigraphics Solutions, and Sun Microsystems, now known as Oracle.

A pillar of strength and wisdom within his family, Pat embodied leadership both professionally and personally, earning the admiration and respect of all who crossed his path. His unwavering commitment to excellence and his steadfast devotion to his family, friends, and colleagues set him apart as a remarkable individual.

Beyond his illustrious career, Pat found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. From sailboats to mountains, Pat was an avid lover of the outdoors. He found tranquility and freedom while sailing on his beloved sailboat, Delilah, with his young family. Pat also found joy and camaraderie on the golf course, where he honed his skills and shared memorable moments with friends and loved ones at Northwood Club. His zest for life and his ability to find happiness in the little moments will forever be cherished and remembered.

Patricia Fisher Weber (1940-2024)

Born on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1940, in Effingham, Illinois, Patricia was the cherished daughter of Juanita Crawford Fisher and Henry Thomas Fisher. Patricia grew up in Port Arthur, Texas where she had a particularly special relationship with her granddaddy, James Crawford, who lovingly walked her down the aisle on her wedding day. Patricia attended the University of Texas at Austin where she pledged Alpha Chi Omega. She transferred to Lamar University to be reunited with Pat, her high school sweetheart, and pursued her education earning a Bachelor of Business degree and Secondary Education Teaching Certificate.

As a high school student at Thomas Jefferson High School, Patricia was always active in student government. She was a council representative from freshman to junior year and elected to serve as a student body officer her senior year. Patricia was also elected as a student representative at the annual Prom. She was the sophomore Princess and the senior Grand Duchess. Additionally, Patricia was a member of the Thomas Jefferson Red Hussars drill team and served as President her senior year.

During her childhood, Patricia developed a passionate love for music and a devotion to the performing arts. She enjoyed 12 years of piano lessons taught by her mother and developed a God-given gift of playing countless songs by ear, as this was a cherished memory and inspiration for her grandchildren. Her grace and caring spirit were inspiring, and she lived and loved as a treasured wife, mother, and grandmother.

Patricia embraced her colorful life with joyfulness, elegance, and an artistic spirit. She was a remarkable soul who found pure delight in celebrating life's every moment with a special fondness for holidays, especially her birthday on St. Patrick’s Day. She embraced the occasion by dressing in vibrant shades of green for her birthday week. Her home was always a festive sanctuary, adorned with beautiful holiday decor that reflected her passionate spirit for creating joyous atmospheres. Patricia's generous heart extended beyond her home, as she lovingly sent thoughtful gifts and heartfelt cards to her cherished friends and family for every special occasion. Her love for celebrations reflected the boundless appreciation she had for those around her.

Her passion extended beyond family to various community organizations. During her daughters’ school years, she was active in many school related activities. She was president of the Spring Creek Elementary and Westwood Junior High School PTA’s. Patricia and Pat received the Lifetime Membership Awards in Texas PTA. Additionally, Patricia was a vibrant member of Northwood Club, AWARE, the Park Cities Historic and Preservation Society, the George Bush Library, the Northwood Woman's Club, and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League.

Patricia and Pat Weber leave behind a legacy of love, dedication, and service. They are preceded in death by their daughter, Wendy Weber Smith. Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, Juanita and Henry Fisher. Pat is preceded in death by his parents, Jewel and Hans Weber; sister, Barbara Ruth Weber Goodwin; brother-in-law, Bernie Joe Cook; nephew, Michael August Cook, all of Beaumont, Texas. They are survived by their daughter, Heather Weber Molthan and husband, Mark; and their cherished grandchildren, Megan, Molly, and Blake Molthan and Ashley and Andrew Smith of Dallas, Texas. Pat is survived by his sister, Laura Weber Cook of Beaumont, Texas; nieces, Jodi and Julie Lovoi of Keller, Texas; and great-niece, Danielle August Cook of Beaumont, Texas.

Their lives were marked by a deep connection to each other, their family, and their community.

A joint memorial service celebrating their lives will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, June 20, at Highland Park United Methodist Church. In tribute to the Webers, the family kindly encourages guests to wear bright colors symbolizing the radiant presence they brought to the world. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Highland Park United Methodist Church or the charity of choice.
