William Everett “Bill” Crist died peacefully on August 16, 2015. Bill was born on January 20, 1939 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Jacob L. Crist and Edna Hale Crist. Bill was married to Rita Leonard. The two of them were neighbors and met as a teenagers. They enjoyed 56 years of marriage together. They have two surviving sons; William Jr. and Daniel. Also surviving are grandchildren Billy III and twin girls Brittany and Casey.
In his early years, Bill worked at a bakery in Indianapolis with his mother where his passion for bakery included the creation of decorative roses. The Crist’s then owned a bakery in Washington D.C. and they supplied baked goods to the Kennedy White House. Bill was an avid golfer and also enjoyed watching car racing.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 AM Saturday August 22, 2015 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Plano. Following the Mass, Bill’s cremated remains will be inurned in the church columbarium.
