William Leroy Cooper

William Leroy Cooper was born August 30, 1921 in Dallas, TX to Richard & Lavada Cooper and passed away November 24, 2012 in Dallas. Leroy was on the Baseball State Championship team at Forest High School in 1940 and graduated the same year. On December 3, 1940 he married Catherine Ann Masterson; they were married for 70 years until her passing in February of 2011. Leroy owned Cooper’s Pet Food (for 25 years), Lakeland Cleaners of Dallas, Mesquite Riding Stable and contracted meat with the City of Dallas for the zoo animals. He is survived by children: Leanna C. Boaz, Rick L. Cooper & Crissie McWilliams; grandchildren: Bud Hopkins, Sissy Phillips, Kelly Cooper, Alexandria Wallace & Jaymie McWilliams; great-grandchildren: Jennifer Sanders, Cassie Peoples, Abbe Hopkins, Alle Hopkins, Hunter Hopkins & Madison Phillips. Funeral service is 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Grove Hill Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Polley officiating. Visitation will be the hour prior to the service.
