William C. Burns passed away on May 18, 2024 in Plano, TX at 82. He was born on October 20, 1941 to Joseph and Elizabeth Burns in Brooklyn, NY. Bill was raised in Brooklyn, NY and went on to graduate from New York University in 1968 and Pace University in 1976. Bill was also honorably discharged from the US Army after 2 years of service. In 1964, he married Lorraine Jablonowski and together they raised 2 daughters. Bill had a long and successful career as a Tax Specialist for JC Penney, where he worked for more than 25 years before enjoying his retirement. He belonged to the JC Penney HCSC Alumni Club, where he served as treasurer until he turned 75. Bill was a longtime member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
In his spare time, he enjoyed taking cruises and traveling the world with his wife Lorraine, playing golf, and spending time with friends and family. Bill was affectionately known as the "Martini Man" and enjoyed making delicious martinis. Family and friends will always remember Bill as a wonderful husband, and caring father who was kind to everyone.
Bill is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Lorraine Burns; daughters, Donna Spangler and Sandy Alfano; sons in law, Adam Spangler and Andrew Alfano; Grandchildren, Christina Alfano, Amanda Pienkos, Drew Alfano, Heather Spangler, and Garrett Spangler; as well as many friends and extended family.
