William Lee Bixler, was born in Pasadena, Texas, on October 16, 1952, to Max and Melba Bixler. Bill passed away on June 14, 2010 in Dallas. He is preceded in death by his father Max. Bill is survived by his mother Melba, brother Bob, daughter Amberlee, son Benjamin, wife Mary, stepdaughters Shelley and Marisa, and extended family and friends. Bill served in the United States Marine Corp from 1970 to 1974, serving on the Forestal in the Mediterranean. He called it his “Med Cruise.” Bill then worked in electronics. He eventually went to work for the Post Office, where he was currently employed at the facility in Coppell as an Electronic Technician. Bill had so many interests from scuba diving (member of the Scubadillos) to bowling (member of the Humpers – for Wednesday Hump Day - at the Plano Super Bowl). He always had a science fiction book with him to read in his downtime and chocolate to share. Bill had a young and energetic spirit and a sometimes quirky sense of humor. He loved playing jokes and teasing, liked a variety of music, was an avid STARS fan. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle – not a thrill Mary shared with him. Bill really enjoyed good food and loved to cook for family and friends, providing many unique and often spicy dishes. He loved his peppers! He also enjoyed sharing a good bottle of wine and had an affinity for picking out a wine worthy of any connoisseur, but usually at a bargain price. He was very generous and got pleasure in sharing with his family and friends. Bill adored Mary, and they have shared wonderful times over the past fifteen years travelling to Grand Cayman and Cozumel for scuba diving, to the Pacific Northwest to visit friends and sight-see, and small trips in and around Texas. He had a talent for taking beautiful pictures of their travels and many of the photos are displayed in their home. Bill was a very special person who will be missed.
