(Bishop J. Neaul Haynes was our new Jurisdictional Prelate).
Because the Youth, and Young Adults, traveled singing all over the city, and the Church-At-Large followed Supt. Gant to many Church services in and out of the City of Dallas, Elder Jones alone with the Youth, and Young Adults, put on fundraisers to raise the down payment for The First Brand New Church Van, and Elder Jones (who was called Min. Wendell at that time) was the First Church Bus Driver. The name the of Youth Choir was “ The Tarsalettes in later years as they got older the name change to The Evangelistics” When the Church name was put on the van, Evangelistic was added to the name “True Way Evangelistic Church of God in Christ”.
Elder Jones was a prayer warrior. He loved leading the prayer before service, and the opening prayer to begin worship service. Elder Jones loved the Mothers of the Church for it was the Strong Godly Mothers such as his own birth mother Missionary Clarice Jones, Evangelist, Mary Hutchins - White, Mother Ora Brackens, and the Pastors wife Missionary Callie Mae Gant, and others that taught the young people how to pray and reach Heaven. Elder Jones wanted to reach the lost at any cost through Pentecost. On Sunday evenings Elder Jones would visit the sick and shut-in at their homes, and in the hospitals around the City. He would inquire how they were doing, and then read a scripture, and prayed for their healing, and a speedy recovery.
Elder Jones taught Bible Study at Dallas Parks & Rec Center - Exline Recreation Center on Pine St. in the South Dallas area once a week, for Senior Citizen who could not always get to their own church service, or just wanted to hear and be a part of good interactive Teaching and Preaching. They called him their Pastor. Elder Jones also worked with the Youth in Wynne Wood Village calling them” Dallas Youth the Next Generation”. His goal was to help save a lost generation. Working with them included bible study for young people, feeding them, field trips, teaching them to respect themselves, and others, but most of all to love God, and to know God is Real.
Elder Jones worked for Cooper Airmotive Inc., Mercantile National Bank of Dallas, and Terminal Cab Company. He was the co-owner of Wen and Jan’s Day Care, and Champion Child Development Center.

Everett Jones. Pastor Wendell Jones lead his Membership, and other across the city in 5:00am prayer at his Church every morning. Saints would come to pray on their way to work, or just to get their day started. If they were able to stay, they would hear a word from the Lord as Pastor Jones expound on the Word of God. This was Morning Glory. Prayer was from 5:00am – 6:00am Monday – Friday.
What would carry Elder Jones through the next chapter of his life would be his prayer life, his faith, and trust in God, his love for, and willingness to forgive people who would try to destroy him, being able to teach, and or preach the word of God when the opportunity presented itself, the love shown to him by his wife, family, and special friends who either visit him, corresponded with him through letters or cards, blessed him financially, and those who prayed for his safety, and his release daily, and most of all those who believed his innocence.
