Age 76, formerly of Dallas, and President of Long Machine Tool Company for over 30 years, died at home on December 5, 2011. A dealer in machine tools, Casey followed his father who had followed his father to continue a tradition dating from 1925. He attended St. Edwards School in Dallas and graduated from Jesuit High School in 1953 before going to Arlington State College, now UTA, and receiving an associate degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was an avid golfer and devoted father and husband. He was also a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Parish and active in several church organizations as well as Knights of Columbus # 799. As an avid golfer, he was a member of the same foursome for over 20 years. Casey was preceded in death by his parents James and Decima (Williams) Long as well as brothers James C. Long Jr & Robert Watts Long and sister Dora Jean Born. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sylvia (Moreland) Long, his children Casey Jr. and his wife Chris of Kopperl, Karen and husband Tab of Rockwall, Ray and his wife Jill of Garland, Ed and his wife Renee of Frisco, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by siblings Peggy Lou Brown of Texarkana, Bernie Long of Garland, Tony Long of Clyde NC, Laura Sue Mc Evoy of Dallas. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, great uncle, & great-great uncle, as well as cousin to many survivors. Casey was a machinist by training, a machine tool salesman and designer extraordinaire and never met any mechanical thing that could not be figured or explained. Engineering was his gift from God.
