Wayne Carter Arrington

When Wayne was three, his family moved to Palestine, Texas and later to Dallas where Wayne graduated from Highland Park High School and Southern Methodist University. Upon graduation, Wayne worked as a CPA for Arthur Andersen, and eventually progressed in his career to become financial vice president at Chaparral Steel and later at J. D. Abrams in Austin.

Wayne was a longtime member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church where he participated in the Frank Hundley Bible Class. Volunteer work included the honor of serving as a docent at the George W. Bush Presidential Library.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, son Douglas Arrington and stepson Stuart Pace, and is survived by his beloved wife Margaret Streckmann Arrington, sister Lillie Adean Arrington, sons Ronald Arrington (Jennifer) and Rodney Arrington, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three stepchildren: Charlie Pace (Kendall), Holly Pace Maxwell (John), Shannon Pace Hewgley (Abe) and stepdaughter-in-law Kathryn Pace and their families, and his “BFF” Bob Smith and his wife Charlotte.

A memorial service will be held February 23, 2024, at 2 p.m. in Wynne Chapel at Highland Park Presbyterian Church.
