Vivian was raised in Goodlett, Texas on her family farm. She had fond memories of farm life (except for picking cotton). As an only child, her best friend was “Puppy”, her chihuahua, given to her by a family friend as a birthday gift when she was 4 or 5. She graduated from Quanah High School, and then West Texas State College in Canyon, Texas in 1953. She raised two children, Robert (Bob) and Gloria, while working in various defense manufacturers. After 20+ years, she was able to retire and focus on managing family farms.
Vivian’s favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling and activities with her friends. She enjoyed politics, working at the precinct level for several years. She was involved with Casa View Baptist Church for many years and made many dear friends there.
Vivian is survived by her daughter, Gloria Booth; son-in-law, Steve Booth; daughter-in-law, Gigi Schoenstein; grandsons, Christopher Booth, Matthew Booth and his wife Rachel; and great granddaughters Madison Booth and Katherine Booth.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Birta Roberts, son Robert (Bob) Schoenstein, and granddaughter Rachel J. Booth.
A funeral service for Vivian will be held Monday, December 16, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
