Ginny was born on October 4, 1935, to William & Rosa Millsap in Henryetta, OK. Her family later moved to Dallas. While living in Dallas she met a sailor, James E. Walton, in the US Navy. He was the love of her life. They married on September 8, 1953. Ginny loved the Navy life. They were stationed in Dallas, TX, Yokosuka, Japan, Whidbey Island, WA, Memphis, TN, Orlando, FL and he retired in Jacksonville, FL. Upon retirement from the Navy, they moved back to Dallas to be near her mom and family in 1969. Then settled in Bedford, TX in 1970. In 1981 they bought land and lived outside the Winnsboro/Quitman area. James “Red” Walton preceded her in death on September 11, 1995. They were married 42 years.
Ginny loved gardening, sewing, and had a love for raising Toy Poodles. She made the best strawberry cake, and loved listening to Hank Williams Jr. She adored raising her 6 children and loving on her grandkids.
Ginny is preceded in death by parents William and Rosa Millsap; brother Delmar and wife Mary Millsap; brother Kenneth Millsap; sister Marie and husband JD Frazier; brother Lavon and wife Patsy Millsap; brother Rex Millsap; brother Don Millsap; son Tommy Walton; daughter Debra Sue Walton; and daughter Kathy Croney.
Ginny is survived by son Jimmy and wife Beverley Walton; daughter Linda and husband Marc Ewing; daughter Joy and husband Kenneth McLeod. 15 grandchildren who lovingly called her Mema: Rachel, Travis, and Cody; Paul, Lisa, and Laura; Kim, Kyle, and Connor; Matthew, Justin, and Jamie; Hunter and Mason; Brandy and 14 Great-Grandchildren.
Our Mom, Mema, was truly the Matriarch of our family. She will be deeply missed and we will forever carry her memory in our hearts.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Dallas.
