Virginia Wakeman Thomas was born on December 25, 1930 in Bangor Michigan. Her parents were Myrtle and Arthur Wakeman. She loved Christmas from birth to her peaceful passing on Sunday, March 27. She loved sharing Jesus’ birthday. She was married to the love of her life Gordon Thomas for 53 years. She missed her “other half” after his passing on August 18, 2002.
Ginny’s favorite names were Mom, Grandma, Mimi, wife, friend and mentor.
Her desire above all else was that she would leave a legacy and see all of her family and friends in heaven. She got excited thinking about it…that we would all be together again. III John says “I have no greater joy than to know my children walk with the Lord”
Ginny is survived by her three children, 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Karen Jordan-Markham, her daughters Erin Whelan and her children Graceyn and Soren, Lindsay Villarreal, her husband Ernie and their children Mia, Griffin and Gigi; Bill Thomas, his wife Jay and their children Callie, Franki and Kelsy; Paul Thomas, his wife Beth and their children Jeremy, Megan and her husband Jason and daughter Addilynn.
Ginny spent her life serving others, “her ministry” was her servants heart which led to her to service as a Pastor’s wife, American Tract Society, mentor to many and passion for other ministers’ wives and serving them.
We know she is now dancing with Gordon…(something she would never do on this earth)….. in heaven……she has fulfilled her mission…..as good and faithful servant.
Services will be Friday, April 7 at 3:00PM with a reception to follow
