Virginia Ann Smith

Ms. Virginia Ann Smith was born July 28, 1948 to Inez Smith and Clarence Shorter. Ann was reared up in Dallas, Texas. Ann accepted Christ at an early age, under the Leadership of Elder McVey of Ledbetter Church of God in Christ. She was educated in the Dallas Independent School District and a 1967 L.G. Pinkston High School Graduate. Ann was employed at James Bowie Elementary School for 30 years. She was very devoted to her job and she loved serving others. She was really loved by her staff and students.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents Clarence Shorter and Inez Smith Shorter. Grandmother Lena Mattie Jones, Nephew Nathan D. Hayes, Brothers in laws Norman Hayes, Jr. and Michael F. Busby and Isaiah Hollins

She Leaves to cherish her loving memories Three Sisters Lena Hayes, Dorothy Hollins and Linda Busby all of Dallas, Texas. Two Nieces LaWanda Hayes of Cedar Hill, Texas and Barbara Hayes of Dallas, Texas Four Nephews Norman R. Hayes, Kelvin Hayes both of Dallas, Texas Christopher Busby (Jeannea) of Cedar Hill, Texas and Nicholas Busby of Dallas, Texas. Two Great-nieces and one Great-great niece. Aunt Vernell Shorter, Extended Family Dennis and Patricia Busby Four Great -great nephews and host otherfamily members and friends.
