Mary Virginia Brumley passed away at home on August 28, 2017 at the age of 98. She was born on Saturday, July 5, 1919 in Como, TX to the parentage of Lilly Florence and Edwin Lynch. She was preceded in death in 2002 by her husband of nearly 60 years, Wayne Brumley; sisters, Carrie Sue Wright, Lillian Ruth Lewis, Aquilla Baker and brother, Jack (Bubba) Lewis. Virginia is survived by baby sister, Janet Lewis of Dallas, TX; two daughters Pamela Stater and Paula Brumley; grandson, Christopher A. Watt, niece, Elenor McMillan and husband, Don along with their son, David McMillan. She is also survived by her Grandniece, Cindy (Williams) Smith and her brother, Bruce. After graduating high school in 1937, she focused on a career and family, spending a number of years with both Gerard and Lone Star Life Ins. Co. After moving from Sulphur Springs to Dallas in 1956, Virginia and Wayne would settle in Oak Cliff to raise their daughters. Eventually Wayne and Virginia would open, run and grow Wayne’s Auto Sales into a thriving car dealership. Virginia was active in the Forrest Academy Church while still in Sulphur Springs. After moving to Dallas, she joined Stephens Park Methodist Church in Oak Cliff where she remained quite active for a number of years. Virginia loved sewing, reading the newspaper cover to cover, flowers of almost any kind and babies. Although not a hobby, Virginia couldn’t help but to help others virtually and unconditionally. She was many people’s salvation. Virginia was warm hearted, generous, honest, strong and tough. She would let you know if she didn’t like something. Virginia remains a prime example of honesty and goodness that today’s world seldom sees. A special thank you to Ivert Tambe, hospice RN wh o helped care for Virginia in her last ten days at home.
