Victor Alfredo Holguin,Jr., 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 4, 2013. He succumbed to complications of liver and kidney disease. Victor was born February 29, 1940, in El Paso, Texas. In 1960, he married the love of his life, Olivia Acuna, and lived a happily 53 years of marriage.
He was a retired employee of Sprint Management Services and a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church. Victor was a man who cared greatly about his community and devoted his time to serving others by volunteering in different organizations. His passion, however, was to educate immigrants and help many achieve US citizenship.
Victor is survived by his wife, Olivia A. Holguin; son, Victor Holguin; daughter, Margo Holguin; daughter and son-in-law Les and Bonnie Young; and four grandchildren Mallorie Holguin, Alex Holguin, Megan Young, and Mathew Young.
Visitations will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Hill Funeral Home in Dallas, with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at the Calvary Hill Mausoleum North Chapel on Monday at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
