Vicki Callan Baldwin was born June 11, 1955, in Commerce, Texas. She grew up on the family ranch which was a “Texas Centennial Ranch” since it had been in her family from 1846. Her parents were James Callan and Mamie Alexander, both deceased. Vicki has a sister, Mary Mize who resides in Greenville, Texas with her husband Charles. Vicki graduated from Texas A&M – Commerce, with a bachelor’s degree in English literature. After graduating, she taught school in Paris, Texas. She later moved to Dallas and met and married William l Baldwin, in 1978. Vicki and Bill had two children: son William L. Baldwin, Jr. who is deceased; and daughter Katherine L. Baldwin, who lives in Los Angeles, CA. Vicki was an active and creative person who enjoyed varied activities, including home decoration, gardening, snow skiing, reading and traveling; especially to California (Monterey Peninsula) to visit the vineyards, beaches and aquarium. She was smart with an engaging personality. Vicki was a member of the Northwood Women’s Club, and chaired the garden group. Vicki also performed volunteer work at Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Her most recent activity-- which she loved most of all-- was being a grandmother to her grandson, William L. Baldwin III, who was born December 11, 2009. Vicki passed away on February 28, 2010. She will be missed by all who knew her and most of all by her husband, Bill.
The Viewing will be held at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home; 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, 75225. Wednesday, March 3; 6-8pm. Funeral services will be at Highland Park United Methodist church; Cox chapel, on February 4 at 2:00pm; followed by burial services at Sparkman/Hillcrest Cemetery.
