

He received his formal education in the Dallas Public School district, and graduated from Lincoln High school. After which he enlisted In the United States Marines where he served for many years. Following his service in the military he was employed with Lone Star Gas Company in Dallas, Texas.
Deacon Graham was proceeded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law Rev. James C. & Estella M. Graham, grandmother; Ludie Edwards, Uncle; J.W. Edwards, aunt; Lucille Author, cousin; Claudia Thompson and a loving mate Thelma Cox.
He loved his Pastor, Rev. David C. Ward, and First Lady Erma Ward and the Greater St. Joseph Baptist Church. Family where he was a faithful member and served as a dutifully Deacon. He loved the Lord seasoning his conversation with his favorite scriptures the 23 Psalm and 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Deacon Graham would entertain you with his favorite song “I Won’t Complain” He would testify the Lord had been good to him. He faced life’s challenges without complaining but talking about the goodness of God and Going Home to be With The Lord.
Deacon Graham’s family and friends affectionately called him Uncle Vernell, Uncle Vern, and Vern!
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving caretaker whom he said was like a daughter Dwanna Taylor (Kevin), Nephews; Rev. James C Graham, Jr. (Shawanda), Donnie Graham, Nieces; Rosanel Lenued, Rev. Chyrel Roseborough, Vickie Williams (Alfred) Rhonda Graham. Special Cousins; Rickey Thompson, Gwendolyn Doggett, Linda Thompson, Annette Jones Claude Author, Jr. and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
