Vera Faye Huntsinger Littrell

Faye was born on March 13, 1928, in Lorena, Texas, to Vance Claude and Marye Janetta (Slaughter) Huntsinger. On January 25, 1952, she married her husband of 54 years, Finis Archibald Littrell. He proceeded her in death on April 9, 2008. Together they had three children---Stan, Van and Karen. She later became “G” to four grandsons.

Faye devoted a great deal of her life to raising her kids, running the household and cooking for just about anyone who walked through her back door. Her home became a hub for family and friends because of her warmth, her hospitality, and her cooking!

In her later years when most folks retire, Faye became an office administrator for Skyline High School where she worked for 20 years until she retired in 2007.

Faye and Arch spent summers and weekends with families and friends at their lake house in East Texas where many memories were made.

Faye is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Joann Strickland, and her husband Arch. She is survived by her son Stan Littrell of Dallas, Texas, her son Van Littrell and wife Sheri, of Dallas, Texas, her daughter Karen Dyer, and husband Greg, of Mesquite, Texas and grandchildren Matt and Sam Littrell and Austin and Conner Dyer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to VNA Meals on Wheels.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to VNA Hospice Care for their support in Faye’s final days and to Cesia Valdez for the care and friendship she poured into Faye in the latter months of her life.
