Vanda lived most of her life in the Dallas area. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, and married her high school sweetheart, John Eddie Caperton. She and John were blessed with three children.
She enjoyed entertaining her family and friends, and was a wonderful cook. Vanda had a flair for decorating, and great taste in décor and her own personal style. She was full of life and somewhat feisty. Throughout her life, she delighted in various volunteer work, helping those in need. She loved the Lord and was a faithful servant as a member of Wilshire Baptist Church for years, and most recently Park Cities Baptist Church.
Vanda was preceded in death by her parents Jay and Dulan Anderton, husband, John, sisters, Shirley Anderton and Norma Nelson.
Left to cherish precious memories are her three children, John, Donald (wife Cindy), and Lori Caperton. She is also survived by grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Mimi”, Tina Caperton, Danielle Schaum (husband Elliott), and Lexi Nitishin; great granddaughters, Ella and Juliette Schaum; loving sister, Linda McMillion; brother-in-love, Carl (Buddy) Nelson; sister-in-love, Barbara Caperton; numerous loving nieces and nephews, and dear lifelong friends, Charlene Winborn, Dell Osborn and Ellen Sinks.
Vanda will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Vanda’s wishes were to forgo a formal service. A private burial will take place at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas.
