Tommie Long Woolley passed away on December 3, 2016 after a brief illness. She was born in Comanche, Texas on September 22, 1922 to Vera and Sam Long. She attended Highland Park High School where she met her husband Bennett Woolley. Tommie graduated from Southern Methodist University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta and continued her education at Columbia Graduate School.
Tommie and Bennett were married during World War II and returned to Dallas. After raising their three daughters, they spent many happy years in Santa Fe painting and entertaining family and close friends.
Tommie was always bright both in spirit and mind. She was a great lover of books, art, politics and cooking. She cherished her memories of traveling and adventures with her late husband, but above all loved her family and grandchildren. Tommie strongly impacted all their lives with her humorous nature, wisdom, gentle guidance and warm heart.
Tommie was preceded in death by her husband, Bennett Woolley Jr. She is survived by her children Chris Redden and husband Mike, Carol McEvoy and husband Patrick, Shannon Woolley and husband Dr. Tom Gutheil; grandchildren Patrick and Amy McEvoy, Bennett McEvoy, Kate and Willing Ryan, Tia and Dylan Gutheil. She is survived by her three great grandchildren: Grace and Ford McEvoy, Blythe Ryan and many loved nieces and nephews.
Tommie was a member of The Junior League of Dallas, The Dallas Woman’s Club, The Dallas Garden Club and The Dallas Country Club.

December 7, 2016 at 11AM at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, 3821 University Blvd., Dallas, TX. 75205.
