Tim as he was affectionately called, was educated in the Chilton Independent School system and graduated from Frederick Douglas High School. As a young child, Timmie Lee along with his parents and brothers attended the New Hope Baptist of Chilton Texas, where he professed his faith in God and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. But before leaving Chilton Texas, Timmie Lee met and married the love of his life, Betty Jo Jackson Hodges on April 27, 1957and years later they were blessed with four children.

Tim was a hard worker and wanted to provide for his family, he worked for various companies, until he decided to become his own boss. In 1968 Tim purchased his first dump truck and started his own business that he named Timmie Lee Hodges DBA Hodges & Son’s Trucking and signed his first contract with Texas Bitulithic Asphalt that is now called APAC Texas.
Tim was known by all as a hard working husband, father, Pawpaw, brother, brother –in-law, uncle, cousin and friend. And he was blessed with a large family, he always enjoyed having company, because he loved his family. Tim and Betty, along with their children joined New Birth Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. George W. Pryor, where Tim remained a very faithful deacon and supporter of the church until his health failed him.
