Thomas Kirkland

Thomas Kirkland born July 19, 1942 in Childress, Texas. Tom died of lung cancer after a 2 year battle with hopes for a cancer cure. He was an eternal optimist. He is survived by his wife Rachel Kirkland of 46 years; a son John P. Kirkland; a stepdaughter, Kathleen Darst; a daughter-in-law Laurie Daniels Kirkland and 6 grandchildren: Ashley Ethridge, Bridgette Sampeck, Luke Sampeck. A beloved grandson Grant Kirkland, a granddaughter Kaylee and Preston Kirkland, and a great-granddaughter Aria. Tom was a CPA by profession and became a CFO & CEO of a conglomerate company owned by Hayes Leasing Company from which he retired in 1996. He then retired and enjoyed his golf game; fishing with Grant and owned and ran a small enterprise between his political volunteer work and other interests. Visitation at Sparkman/Crane Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 5th, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The Funeral Mass is 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3030 Gus Thomasson Road, Dallas. Rev. Michael Guadagnoli, Celebrant.
