Thomas Kent “T.K.” Foster passed on Good Friday March 30, 2018 at the age of 88. He was born on April 15, 1929 in Vinita, Oklahoma to Melton Emmet and Agnes Foster. Tom was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, steadfast friend, mentor, and humanitarian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Foster and his first wife and the mother of his children, Marge White Foster. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Margie Foster, his daughter Susan Foster Sedberry and husband Steve, his son Scott Foster and wife Suzette, grandchildren Grant Sedberry and Kim Sedberry Hess and husband Marc, stepdaughters Susan Peterson and Deborah Ham, stepsons Bob Young and wife Sherry, Mark Young and wife Nancy, grandchildren Trey Young and wife Courtney, Ashley Hall and husband Jeremy, Chris Peterson and wife Jenny, Jonathan Peterson, Margaret White and husband Daniel, Jennifer Ham, Thomas Young, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Growing up in Bartlesville Oklahoma, Tom graduated from Bartlesville High School. He attended the University of Kansas where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. He went to work for Magnolia Petroleum, which later became Mobil Pipeline Company, from which he retired after a successful 42-year career.
In retirement, Tom became an active volunteer with Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity, however it was the Meals on Wheels program through the Dallas Visiting Nurses Association where he really left his mark. He helped reorganize and computerize the Association and restructured the delivery routes, increasing their efficiency and ability to provide timely meal deliveries. His efforts were appreciated by the VNA, which honored him with their highest award, the Volunteer of the Year, in 1999.
Tom was an avid boater and traveler. He was very active in the Dallas Sail & Power Squadron, holding many of the offices before becoming Commander. During his tenure in the Squadron, he helped organize boating cruises through the lakes and rivers of Texas. He also enjoyed spending long weeks in Maine eating lobster rolls and enjoying time on the coast. His adventurous and active lifestyle took him traveling across Europe and Asia.

A memorial service for Tom will be held on Saturday, April 28 at 12:00 noon at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, Texas.
