Thomas Ray Carson (Polk) was born on September 16, 1942, to Willie and Johnnie Mae Carson in Pecan Gap, Texas. Thomas was the third child of seven children: Melvin, Lula Bell, Eddie Paul and Edward Earl preceding him in death.
He accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of Beckley Heights Church of Christ, Dallas, TX. Since 2001 for 20 years until his transition.
Thomas moved to Dallas, Texas in the early 60’s. He attended Lincoln High School, where he graduated in 1962. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the US Army. He served approximately 27 years in the Army and Army Reserves.
Upon his retirement, he worked 10 years at Decker Meat Company. He later worked for the City of Dallas and retired after 20 years. While there at the city he received a certificate in the electrical area from Northlake College.
Thomas leaves to mourn 5 sons and 3 daughters: Rev. Gayleon Carson (La’Cole), Nathan Maxwell (Wanda), Sherman Goodson, Timothy Crawford, Fredrick Crawford, Julia Carson Morrison (Steven), Rozener Parnell (Michael) and Johanna Wordlaw. Three sisters: Betty Carson Thomas (Sue), Charlene Coleman, Golden Faye Carson-Hall, one brother: Thurman Dowdy. Two aunts: Sally Jean Butler and Ella Mae Abrone. Seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends.
