Thomas “Tommy” Steven Blair Jr, resident of Plano, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 18, 2020. Tommy was born to Cheryl and Thomas Blair in Silver Spring, Maryland on February 3, 1991 and lived in Poolesville, Maryland before moving to Plano, Texas in 1997.
Tommy grew up in Maryland until the age of 6. Even at such a young age, Tommy was a loved and well-known individual in the community. People would recognize his beautiful smile everywhere he went from the grocery store to the dry cleaners. Early on in life Tommy found his love for sports. He most enjoyed his dad being the coach of all of his teams growing up. Tommy graduated high school from Prestonwood Christian Academy in 2009 where he was on the baseball and football teams. He was also a member of Young Men’s Service League and Parkway Hills Baptist Church, where he was baptized and devoted his life to Christ. After graduating high school, Tommy went on to receive his Bachelor of Business Administration double major in marketing and management from the University of South Carolina. He was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity where he made lifelong friendships. After graduation, Tommy worked for SoftLayer/IBM as a sales representative selling cloud computing services. After SoftLayer/IBM he moved to Groveton, Texas to work on his grandfather’s ranch. Tommy has worked for Wildcat Lending for almost two years as a Business Operations Analyst. He was pursuing his certifications and license in insurance.
Tommy is remembered for his kind heart and how deeply he cared for and loved others. He had an incredibly creative mind and his positive and uplifting spirit made him a joy to be around. His character radiated love to everyone he knew. He lived to serve others, constantly putting smiles on the faces of those around him. He had a passion for making everyone happy. He was always able to pull the best out of everyone when he was with them. Above all else, Tommy deeply valued his family and friends, who he never failed to support. He was so personable that he never met a stranger. Spending time with his family and Stephanie meant the world to him. He enjoyed snowboarding, fishing, cooking, tennis, golf, hanging out with his friends and rooting for the South Carolina Gamecocks. Tommy is remembered as a great man who made an impact on everyone he met. If you knew Tommy, you knew a heart of gold.
Tommy is survived by his father, Thomas Steven Blair of Plano, Texas; mother, Cheryl Ann Blair of Plano, Texas; two sisters, Taryn Blair Cook of Houston, Texas and Lexie Blair of Plano, Texas; brother-in-law, Charles Cook; the love of his life, Stephanie Crews of Dallas, Texas; grandmother Ann Oliverio of Carrollton, Texas; grandmother Connie Blair of Frisco, Texas; grandfather Ken “Buddy” Powell of Groveton, Texas; grandfather Bill Nasser of Carrollton, Texas; Uncles, Mark Blair, Steve Blair, Greg Powell, John Becker; Aunts, Lori Hopwood, Deborah Powell, Kristi Becker; many cousins and friends.
A celebration of life for Thomas will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Parkway Hills Baptist Church, 2700 Dallas Parkway, Plano, Texas.
