Theodore Cruz of Dallas, TX passed on Thursday, April 8, 2010. Born in Pasadena, CA on June 20, 1925 to Theodore and Tome (Flores) Cruz and was married to Madeline (Cuizon) Cruz (deceased since June 29, 1947. He is survived by his children, Steve Cruz, Ted Cruz and Teresa Cruz-Hawkins, and grandchildren, Quinn, Robyn and Kira Cruz-Hawkins. He graduated from Occidental College in Pasadena after serving in active duty as a photographer for the US Navy during WWII. He worked for Eastman Kodak Company for over 35 years during which he was transferred from California, to Rochester, NY to finally Dallas where he was the Administrative Manager of the Dallas office. After retirement Ted was on the board of Cable Access Television and where he won several Star Awards for this service. He served as treasurer of the Dallas Banjo Band in which he also performed not only playing banjo, but soloing with his harmonica. He also enjoyed playing African hand drums with Drums Not Guns. Ted’s love for photography led him to win ribbons for his photography at the Texas State Fair. The past few years he’s been a movie reviewer with his own website CruzMovieReviews.com. and a member of the North Texas Film Critics Association. He also donated his time teaching ESL at a local church program. A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2010 from 4-8 pm and a memorial will be on Friday, April 16, 2010, 11:00 AM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, TX 75220.
