Syl was born December 11, 1935 in Fleming, Colorado to Frank and Mary (Brekel) Hoefler. He married Anne Horak Zbylot Anthony of Dallas, TX on May 10, 1997.
He is survived by his wife Anne; daughter Patricia Henry and husband Lee of Austin, TX; grandchildren Greyson Henry and Meghan Henry; brothers Andy Hoefler of Blair, NE, Ben Hoefler of Springfield, IL, Jerry Hoefler of Torrington, WY, Mike Hoefler of Victor, MT; and sisters Jean Tomlinson of Oakdale, CA, and Aggie Derby of Cheyenne, WY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Raymond Hoefler, and his first wife Mary Margaret Litsey. His brother Vince Hoefler followed him in death November 26, 2020, as well as his sister Caroline Daise, who passed March 4, 2021.
