Although a large mass, which was ultimately revealed to be Stage IV pancreatic cancer, was discovered only fifteen days before she passed away, she faced each of those days with tenacity and grace. Never once did her faith in the Lord waiver, nor His peace falter.
Susan was born in Springfield, Missouri, to first-time parents Roy and Joann Fuller on September 20, 1966. Susan, her brother, Steve, and her parents moved to Liberal, Kansas, in 1977, where she met her husband, Jay. Jay and Susan attended Oklahoma Christian University together and were married on August 1, 1987. Immediately after their wedding, Jay and Susan packed up their old Buick Regal and a U-Haul trailer and drove to Boston, where Susan worked to put Jay through law school for the next three years. In 1990, Susan and Jay moved to Dallas, Texas, and in 1994 they welcomed their only child, Meghan Roanne.
Susan’s greatest joy was serving others. Whether preparing meals for members of her Sunday school class, volunteering as a kindergarten Sunday school teacher at Park Cities Baptist Church, counseling women at a crisis pregnancy center or simply caring for her family, Susan strove to place others’ needs before her own. She is remembered as a gourmet cook, a voracious reader, a world-traveler and a devoted wife and mother.
Susan was preceded in death by her father, Roy Fuller, and her sister-in-law, Linda Harris. Susan is survived by her husband, Jay Tabor; her daughter, Meghan Roanne Tabor; her mother, Joann Fuller; her brother and his wife, Steve and Michele Fuller; her sisters- and brothers-in-law: Janie and David Rine, Gary and Donna Tabor, Jerald Harris; numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; and her granddog. Although her absence will be deeply felt by those who knew and loved her, Susan’s family praises God that she is currently in the presence of our Lord and will, like all Believers, be one day resurrected.
