Steve Rivera, beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, friend and super mechanic died peacefully in his sleep at home in the early morning hours on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. His illness was quick to act, as Cancer can sometimes do, but Steve lived a very full, happy life in his 67 years. He loved and was fully loved by many as he didn’t treat people as strangers. If you met Steve (and his Rose) you would be sure to be engaged in a conversation and could possibly become friends or walk away with a smile.
Steve was proudly known as “The Wrench”. He had successful auto repair business in Dallas, TX for 30 years. His customers were not just customers; they became family to Steve (Rose and Stephanie). He had the same repeat customers that spanned to their families and friends because they trusted Steve unconditionally with their vehicles. Honest mechanics are hard to come by and Steve was one that will be missed by his extended “family”.
Steve was born on November 11, 1954 in Houston, TX. He met the love of his life, Rose, and they married on December 31, 1983. They spent just under 40 years together and lived a fun, adventurous time together that was filled with camping, RVing, watching live race car events, attending Mavericks games, traveling and stopping at little shops or garage sales along the way where there may be a special find waiting for him to buy.
In addition to his wife, Rose, he leaves behind his children Steven Anthony Rivera and Stephanie Adelia Giron (Noel); grandchildren Julian, Marissa, Aiden, Evelyn, Esekiel (Zeke), Eber Jr. and one great grandchild, Alessia. His kids and their children were Steve’s great joy. He loved having them around and was a fun grandpa. They will miss him dearly, as we all will, but have cherished memories of great times.
