He was raised in Papillion, Nebraska and graduated from Plano High School in 1972.
He married Wanda Myers in 1988 and the couple had three children. He was a construction manager and custom home builder for his own businesses, including being the owner and operator of Myers Custom Builders. His first career was in the record business, working for the Melody Shop and Big State Records.
In his spare time, Steve enjoyed grilling, cooking, gardening, good music, and attending or watching baseball, football and basketball games. He also loved taking his two dogs Cocoa and Nikki to the dog park and for long walks. He loved to travel, with two of his favorite locations being Las Vegas and Cancun, Mexico. He was an avid hot sauce collector, and the spicier, the better! He also enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends, and was always ready for 5 o’clock!
He is preceded in death by his wife Wanda Myers and his father Walter Myers.
He is survived by his three children: Steven Matthew Myers, Rebecca Nell Hennes, and Courtney Lynn Bennett; and his three grandchildren: Sadie, Jorja, and Tatum Myers. He is also survived by his three siblings: Kris Myers Martin, David Myers, and Paul Myers, and his mother Beatrice Pietzsch.
