STANLEY SCHWARTZ DAVIDOW died July 31, 2015 after fighting the effects of Alzheimer’s. An upright, hardworking, elegant Southern Jewish gentleman, Stanley Davidow is survived by his two sons, Malcolm Hartley Davidow, of Wynnewood Pennsylvania, and Seth Carlin Davidow of Dallas; daughters-in-law Melany Trudeau and Marni Davidow; and three grandchildren: Gabrielle, Ari and Joelle Davidow.
In a career dedicated to manufacturing and providing automotive climate control parts, he was well respected and honored for his leadership and innovation in his field of automotive merchants. He mentored countless others in his industry and fostered careers of his sons, establishing three generations in the auto parts industry.
Born in Greenville, Mississippi in 1939, Davidow graduated from Tulane University as a member of Zeta Beta Tau fraternity. He built his business, Car Air Components in Jacksonville, Florida, selling it to and managing it for Standard Motor Products, and moving to Dallas in 1981. Inventive in his field, he and son Seth co-founded and sold CompressorWorks. In community and business work, Davidow served as an early board member at Grand Bank and most recently, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
Funeral services will be held at Temple Emanu-El Sanctuary, 8500 Hillcrest Road, Dallas, at 2 pm on Sunday, August 2, 2015, with his brother, Rabbi Fred Victor Davidow of Philadelphia, officiating.
