Died: January 30, 2016 age 78, Born: January 26, 1938 to Stanley D and Edith Marie (Marshall) Bloom; Jersey Shore, PA. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son Stanley Bloom of Wichita, KS. On August 2 1972 he married Le Thi “Cam” in Da Nang, Vietnam. Cam Bloom his wife survives him along with her brother Buu Van Le. He is also survived by his daughters Vicki Bloom and Renee Gardener of Wichita, KS; and brothers Lemoyne, Bonnie Bloom of Ft Lauderdale, FL, John, Ruth Bloom of Teec Nos Pos, AZ, Sister Joy, Jim Holmes of Hutchinson, KS and 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Stan was inducted into the United States Army in November of 1956. He trained at Fort Cambell, Kentucky in the Basic Airborne. He served two tours in Vietnam 1968 – 1969 and 1971 – 1972 as a technical observer in a Mohawk Unit. Then he was a Senior instructor at the United States Army Combat Surveillance and Electronic Warfare School in Fort Huachuca, AZ. He was then stationed at Fort Wainwrite, Alaska where he became the unit 1st SGT E-8. He was an Aerial Photographer technical observer. Overall he served 22 years in the United States Army. He was well respected and admired by his fellow officers and enlisted men he served with. He went to work for the BLM as a topographer map maker from which he retired after approximately 22 years. He has resided in Rockwall, TX up to this time. Memorial service will be at 2 pm, Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home, Dallas, TX.
