On April 28, 2011, Silvia Alonso Calisi passed away after a long battle with heart complications. Silvia was born on August 7, 1965 in Duarte, California. Silvia lived her early childhood in El Monte, California. Her family later relocated to Dallas, Texas where she attended grade school at St. Mary of Carmel Catholic School and graduated from Bishop Dunne High School in 1983. After high school, Silvia enrolled in Executive Secretarial School in Dallas and later obtained her paralegal certification from University of North Texas. She is preceded in death by her father, Juan Alonso, and her two older brothers, Miguel Angel Alonso and Juan Martin Alonso. She is survived by her mother, Carmen Alonso, her two sisters, Terry Puente and Lupe Ramirez, her brother, Frank Alonso, her three children, Jacqueline Aranda Grayson, Roberto Aranda, and Ignacio Aranda, and her granddaughter, Sara Juliet Grayson, along with four nieces and six nephews. She was a devoted and dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend. She always had a smile despite the hardships she faced. She was truly an inspiration and role model constantly displaying her strength, courage, and grace. She will be dearly missed and forever loved.
