Sidney Francis Rowland Jr.

Visitation will be 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas. Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home with Father George Henninger, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Hill Mausoleum. Arrangements are by Calvary Hill Funeral Home.

Sidney was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Sidney Francis Rowland, Sr. and Kathryn Alice Delaney Rowland on June 1, 1937. He went to school in Dallas. He married Louise Jeanette Davis Chalk on December 27, 1974, in Dallas. He graduated from South Oak Cliff High School and Draughan's Business College with a degree in Accounting. He worked for Bankers Commercial Life Insurance Company for 40 years. He was President of Bankers Life Insurance Company for 25 years. He was a member of Lake Highlands/White Rock Democrats. He received an honor from his company for his length of service to them. Sidney had achievement award for "Yard of the Month" four times in a row.

Sidney is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Marsha Elaine Chamberlain and his two sisters, Alice Ann Howell and Diane Marie Rowland.

Sidney is survived by Louise Jeanette Rowland, Glenna Jean Heraly (Jeff), Carol Louise Kirby (Michael), Shane Rowland, Dwayne Elliott Rowland, Grandchildren; Jeffery Cavin, Tommy Cavin, Jonah Kirby (Callie), Taylor Kirby, Caylee Cavin; Great Granddaughter, Casandra Ann Rowland; Great Great Grandchildren, Tina Rose Rowland and Christopher Stout.

Memorials may be given to St. Pious Catholic Church or to a charity of your choice, The family of Sidney wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Paul E. Madeley, Dr. Thomas Hutson and the staff at Expedient Home Health Care.
