Sandra Nell Mullins, age 78, passed away with family at her side on Friday, August 24, 2018. Sandra was born Friday September 29, 1939 in Haskell, Texas to Opal Hadaway and Henry Travis Hadaway.
She grew up in Haskell, Texas and was the second child of three. She had a love for dance which carried on into her adulthood. She was a majorette at Haskell High School where she graduated from in 1958. During and after high school, she taught dance to kids for many years.
Sandra married Jerry Dean Mullins, her childhood sweetheart, on August 23, 1957. They eloped in Lawton, Oklahoma. Together, they had 3 amazing sons: Randy, Ronny, and Jimmy. They all claim to be her favorite son. Jerry and Sandra would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this month.
She worked at Canyon Creek National Bank as a Bank Teller and Loan Processor for 20 plus years. Upon retirement, she took care of her beloved mother who had dementia for over 12 years.
She was very devoted to her family. Family was always number one for Sandra. She never missed a child or grandchild's game, recital, etc. Her family will always remember her as loving, sincere, serving, and a loving mother and wife. She was a great mom and a terrific grandmother and great grandmother. She will fondly be remembered for using the phrase "God love its time." In her spare time, you could find her sewing, cooking, cleaning, or doing Jazzercise. She loved to watch All My Children and football on television. She and Jerry liked to go see movies at the theater. Sandra loved to listen to Elvis Presley and watch any movies with Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, and Ginger Rogers. She loved to get up and dance when a good song came on.
She and Jerry enjoyed spending time with Jerry's brother, Jimmy, and sister-in-law, Carolyn and her cousin, Don, and his wife, Lin. She and Jerry loved to eat out even though they had differing opinions on which restaurant was their favorite. She preferred anywhere other than McDonalds; McDonalds was Jerry’s favorite. She absolutely loved the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. Not only was it a chance to share her wonderful cooking, it was also a chance to spend time with her cherished family. She was an expert cook. Her family will greatly miss her cooking and baking skills, especially her famous homemade cookies.
