S. Mort Zimmerman. Born March 18, 1927 Patterson NJ, died peacefully at his home the morning of January 24, 2012. Moved to Dallas in 1936. Graduate of Forest Avenue High School. Served in WW2 as naval radio operator from 1943-1946. Attended Georgia Tech and Oglethorpe Universities earning his degree in electrical engineering 1951. Married Marion Bogue 1951. Tireless inventor; holder of numerous US Patents. Enterprising entrepreneur. Pioneering financier. Builder of businesses. Chaser of dreams. Philosopher. Above all an optimist and visionary. Survived by wife Rosalie Heptinstall Zimmerman; daughter Judy Prieto and husband Gabriel and their children Melissa and Amanda; daughter Sharon Perison and husband Stephan and their children Elizabeth and Allison; son Daniel Zimmerman and wife Edie and their children Samuel and Sarah; grandson Adam Smith son of daughter Suzy Smith who preceded him in death 2007. Also preceded in death by wife Marion Zimmerman 1993. Survived by brothers Jack Glatzer of Cascais, Portugal and Melvin Glatzer of Tel Aviv, Israel. Step sons Bayron Alvarez and Todd Kennedy. Adored poodle Pierre and bunny Bennie. Services and internment at Sparkman Hillcrest Dallas, Friday January 27, 2012 at 3:00 pm.
