Ruth O Hunt

Ruth O. Hunt was born in Madisonville, Kentucky on October 22, 1927 and passed away on June 3, 2011 after a brief illness. She served alongside her husband, Lee, for over 50 years in Baptist churches in Tennessee, Alabama, New Mexico, Florida, and Texas. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Dallas for over 25 years where her husband, Lee, served on staff. Recently, she became a member at Southmont Baptist Church when she relocated to Denton. The most important things in her life were her love of God and her love for her family. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. Ruth is survived by her children: Jan Hunt Newberry and husband, Larry; David Hunt and wife, Kathi; Carolyn Hunt Webb and husband, Pat; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, N. Lee Hunt, and her parents Tom and Effie Ella O’Bryan. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 7, from 6-8 p.m. at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home in Dallas. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 8, at 11:00 a.m. in Truett Chapel at First Baptist Church of Dallas, 1707 San Jacinto Dr. Alan Lynch will officiate. Interment will follow at Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Criswell College in Dallas or Mother’s Heart Ministry at First Baptist Dallas in memory of Ruth O. Hunt.
