Rufus Taylor Higginbotham, Jr., 91, was born June 20, 1932 and died of natural causes July 21, 2023.
He was the last surviving sibling of the three children born to Rufus Taylor Higginbotham, Sr. and Sybil Elizabeth Johnson Higginbotham. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Elizabeth Higginbotham McKee and Carolyn Gene Higginbotham Schley.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lou Ann Jordan Higginbotham of Dallas; daughters Elizabeth Elliott Higginbotham Hertel and her husband Kris Hertel, of Fort Worth and Laura Michelle Higginbotham Dwyer and her husband Taylor Dwyer, of Austin; Sons Rufus Taylor Higginbotham III and his wife Helene Zeiler Higginbotham of Irving and Andrew Benjamin Higginbotham and his wife Erin Sistrunk Higginbotham of Southlake; grandchildren Katherine Elliott (Ellie) Hertel and Kristine Elizabeth (Kiki) Hertel, Riley Grace Higginbotham, Jessie Anna Higginbotham and Juliette Rose Higginbotham and Jordan Rich Dwyer and Judson Paul Dwyer.
The visitation will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The service at 10:00 am on Friday, July 28, 2023, both at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home.
