Roy John Wesley Salley of Dallas, Texas was born on December 19, 1991 in Dallas, Texas. Wesley was tragically killed in an accident Saturday morning September 14, 2013 while visiting friends at Stephen F. Austin University. Wesley was a junior at UT Dallas.
He graduated from Parish Episcopal School of Dallas in 2010. Wesley was a beacon of hope, happiness, and full of promise! His greatest achievement was his ability to be the best friend possible! He was a Christian, and believed deeply in God and had enormous faith.
Wesley was an accomplished athlete. He lettered four years at Parish Episcopal School in varsity football and track. He won state in power lifting his junior and senior year of high school and he played one year of football at DePauw University. He was an avid hunter, Texas A&M football fan, and computer genius! He loved the beach, his friends, and most all his family! Wesley was a great friend to many, he was a tremendous brother and grandson, and he was the finest Son any parent could ever hope to have! We will always love, miss, and remember him, and we look forward to the day when we will be with him again in our Father's house, the Kingdom of Heaven!
He is survived by his Mother Susan Taylor Salley, his Stepmother and Father Gigi and Roy Salley, three brothers, Joshua Salley, Auburn and Jacob Salley, and Austin Salley, all of Dallas, Texas. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Kaydeene Salley, and is survived by his grandparents Starke and Carolyn Taylor of Dallas, and Jerry and Carole Salley of Port O'Connor, Texas. He was preceded in death by his uncle Wesley F Markle III. He is also survived by his aunts and uncle Tracy Taylor, Davina and Chris Taylor and his cousin Allyssa Taylor all of Dallas.
There will be a Memorial Service Wednesday, September 18th at 2:30pm at Lovers Lane Methodist Church, 9200 Inwood Road, Dallas, TX 75220. In lieu of flowers the family requests all donations be made to Parish Episcopal School of Dallas, 4101 Sigman Road, Dallas, TX 75244 to establish a memorial scholarship fund in memory of Wesley Salley.
