Roxanne (Roxy) Lee Sachs of Dallas, Texas passed away December 31, 2017 at the age of 83. She was born April 17, 1934, in Minneapolis, Minnesota and lived most of her adult life in Dallas. Described by friends as the “quintessential Barbara Walters” for her poise and social nature, Roxy was a business woman, a world traveler, and a mother and grandmother.
She was admired by women for her sensibility when it came to fashion, by men for her knowledge of sports (including backgammon, mahjong, and of course the Dallas Cowboys), and loved by all for her adventurous spirit. Roxy was a lover of film, a pianist, an art collector, and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels.
As a proud follower of the Jewish faith, Roxy would visit Jewish museums and memorials when she travelled and instilled her beliefs on her family and friends. She is remembered by her daughter Wendy Sachs, grandchildren Cale and Catherine Sears, and several other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughters Lisa Sachs and Shari Sears, and her grandson Patrick Parente. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
