Rosemary was born June 7, 1951 and grew up in the Little Mexico neighborhood of Dallas, Texas. She proudly attended St. Ann’s School and graduated with honors from North Dallas High School. After graduation, she studied art design for several years at El Centro College and soon gave birth to her first loves, Lisa and Robert Hernandez. Lisa and Robert learned early on what a strong woman Rosemary was as she raised them while working full time. They watched as she took great pride in her work in the insurance industry—serving as a supervisor for over fifteen years—and later in her work with the WIC Program for the City of Dallas.
For twenty-nine years, Rosemary shared an enviously loving partnership with her husband Eloy Morin. And the two cherished raising their children Arturo and Rosa Morin, creating a larger family unit of love with Lisa and Robert. Rosemary and Eloy never missed a game, recital, or event, making sure to photograph every moment. Later, as empty nesters, Rosemary and Eloy enjoyed the frequent cruise, Crozier Tech dances, and date nights filled with movies and music.
Rosemary will forever be remembered as a loving friend whose infectious, bright smile and passion for cooking and baking made every family occasion fun and memorable. She loved to sew—putting together costumes, hundreds of youth football flags, and gifting everyone she loved with a specially crafted fleece blanket. Her love for others was rooted in her Catholic faith as she lived each day truly loving her neighbor. This love of church drew Rosemary to be involved in many aspects of the St. Pius X Catholic School and Parish and to volunteer as a religious director for St. James Church and School, serving one of the most needed churches in Dallas. And her admiration for St. Francis of Assisi was embodied in her love of animals, particularly her many dogs.
Rosemary is survived by her children, Lisa Hernandez, Robert Hernandez, Arturo Morin (Emily Worland), and Rosa Morin; her grandchildren Sophia and Samuel Hernandez and Baby Boy Morin, due June 2021; her siblings Edward (Brenda) Moreno, Roberta Moreno, Henry (Argelia) Moreno, and Armando (Francis) Esquivel; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors she loved and admired. She will be lovingly embraced in heaven by her grandmother “Mama Rosa” Martinez, mother Irene Moreno, husband Eloy Morin, and brother Charles V. Moreno.
In lieu of flowers, Rosemary’s family kindly requests donations be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association at http://act.alz.org/goto/rosemarymorin.
