Born in New Braunfels, TX in 1927, later moved to Dallas. On February 20, 1955 she married Benny Ruiz, Sr., who passed in 2019. Rose had a Beauty Shop then stopped working to raise her two children. Later on she worked as a Teachers Aide and in the Office of Sam Houston Elementary School in Dallas. She and Benny Sr. became members of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Rose served as a Eucharistic minister, volunteered in the Food Pantry, and helped at the parish office. She and Benny Sr. dedicated many hours in the church Sacristy. They were honored with the Bishops Award for Service to the Church in 2012.
Survivors are her son Benny Jr. and Dean Stephenson, daughter Rosemarie Zartman and her husband Allan, granddaughter Alicia Zartman, numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass is Tuesday, February 13 at 10:00 a.m., preceded by Visitation at 9:00 a.m. and Rosary at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3811 Oak Lawn Avenue, Dallas, TX 75219. Burial at 1:00 p.m. at Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Park.
