Rosa Hall better known as, “Marie” “ReeRee” and “Granny Ree”, was born August 20, 1942.
Marie was born as Rosa Marie Franklin in McKinney, Texas - the only child of Rosie Mae (Clemons) Franklin and Haskell Lee Franklin.
Beautiful bright eyed Ree Ree with long ponytails and matching petticoats moved to Dallas at the age of 12 and attended school in the Wilmer Hutchins Independent School District. She is a very proud alumni of the historical Pierce High School in Joppa, Texas – she graduated with the Class of 1961. She obtained a Science Engineer Degree from Texas A & M University. She volunteered many years at Wilmer Hutchins football games serving at the concessions, mostly remembered as a Hutch Bluebelle mom and Board Member. Marie is a retired Engineer, in which she worked for Texas Instruments for 34 years. She served after hours and most weekends playing baseball for many years with fellow coworkers at Texas Instruments. She accepted Christ at an early age and is a lifetime member of Metropolitan A.M.E Church for over 70+ years. She served on many ministries and committees, Local Lay Organization President, 3rd Vice-President, Director of Lay Activities, Recording Secretary N.T.C, Assistant Secretary N.T.C., Steward, Trustee, W.M.S. Vice-President (8 years), Sunday School Teacher, Super indent of Sunday School, Finance Committee, Treasury, Prison Ministry, Church Growth Evangelist, and volunteered serving at the 10th District Headquarter for over 4 years. In addition, Marie served as Chaplain for the American Legion Auxiliary Post #802, volunteered and assisted Disabled American Veterans and Paralyzed Veterans. Marie was passionate about her children, and grands/greats, a real “Mama Bear”. She also loved fashion design, sewing, and her beloved Dallas Cowboys Football Team.
She was married for 18 years to her High School Sweetheart - Raymond Charles Jackson Sr., to this union four children were born. She later married to Herbert Hall for 15 years, no children were born in this union.
Marie peacefully transitioned to Eternity at her daughter’s home on August 5, 2022. She was preceded in love by her parents, Rosie Mae Franklin, Haskell Franklin, Raymond Jackson Sr., and Herbert Hall.
Marie leaves a legacy of faith, love, strength, and valuable memories with her children; Raymond Jackson Jr., Sandra Jackson, Laurinda (Charles)Fisher, and Rodney Jackson.
