Ronald James Yaeger, 81, longtime Dallas resident, passed away at home on December 13, 2012. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on November 2, 1931 to Joseph George Yaeger and Clementine Macek Yaeger. Ron is survived by his wife of 48 years, Anne Maholchic Yaeger, as well as daughter Evelyn Yaeger and son Matthew Yaeger, M.D and his wife Suzy. He also leaves five grandchildren: Ellie, Stephen, Julia, Mary Grace and Johnny Yaeger.
A graduate from Loyola High School as well as Loyola College in Baltimore, Maryland, Ron earned his MBA from Pepperdine University. Ron served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. In 1971, Ron and his family moved to Dallas after taking a job with Burgess Industries. He later bought the air and refrigeration division of Burgess and started his own company, Air & Refrigeration Corp., which he ran until his retirement in 2000. Ron had several patents issued in his name related to the manufacture of HVAC equipment. His retirement years were devoted to serving others, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and later at the North Dallas Shared Ministries. He was also a member of the Serra Club of Dallas.
Visitation will take place on Monday, December 17 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., with Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Calvary Hill Funeral Home. Funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18 at Christ the King Church, 8017 Preston Road, followed by a short reception. Interment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
