On August 25, 1992, parents, Ronald Edwin Neal Jr. and Zommickia Contina Neal, brought into this world our little prince, Ronald Edwin Neal III. We both knew he was very special from the moment we laid eyes on him. His loving kind heart, warm spirit, and great sense of humor touched everyone he came in contact with.
Growing up, he was a very active, curious, strong-willed little boy. There was nothing Ronald wouldn’t try just once. His determination and curiosity always kept him wanting to try new things. With that said, we knew sports would be a great outlet for him. He tried every sport and was good with most, however, basketball became his sport of choice. He loved the game; he had a true passion for the sport! At the age of 4, we started him out playing on a traveling basketball team: The Angels! We became this tight one-thought-one-mind family. We all lived and breathed basketball; it was the best time of his life. We traveled and played in tournaments, where he competed with the best of the best in his age group. Ronald enjoyed every moment, and every second of those years are priceless memories.
After being the only child for almost 9 years, on February 2, 2001, Reginald Erwin Neal was born his little brother with whom he wasn’t too thrilled to have to share his space, time and love. However, he soon fell over the top in love with him to where he never left his side. He became his best friend, protector and BIG brother. They were inseparable; they were always together. If you saw Ronald, you knew Reggie wasn’t too far behind.
As the years passed, he developed into a loving, mature, stubborn, head-strong young man. His opinions, thoughts, and needs mattered. He did things his way no matter the consequences; he was willing to pay the price which all turned into well-learned lessons. He soon graduated from high school in 2010, and that summer, we moved to Dallas, Texas. This is where he got his first job at Carl’s Jr. where he met the mother of his children. From that point on, he became a loving, strong, determined, caring, nurturing father! He leaves behind loving memories and cherished moments that we will carry in our hearts and souls forever.
Ronald leaves behind two beautiful sons, Mason Amaree Neal and Ryan Landon Neal; father, Ronald Edwin Neal Jr.; mother, Zommickia Contina Neal; brother, Reginald Erwin Neal; a cousin who was like a brother, Darrell Herman Pettus III; grandfather, Hollis Lloyd; grandmothers, Deborah Lloyd and Vickie Miles Ansaar; aunt, Zomvickia Chiquita Pettus; great-grandmother, Elese Manning; great uncles, Lamar Manning, Calvin Manning and Theodore Manning; the mother of his children, Maria Lopez; and a host of other family and friends
